How does a car converter work? What is it used for and which model to choose?
Are you going on a trip or camping trip where you will not be able to use the socket and the car charger may not be enough? We offer a device that will solve your problems. It is an inverter. It allows you to power all equipment that needs electricity, such as kettle, dryer, TV, console, laptop and many others, from your car battery. It is a device that will allow you to fully use your equipment wherever you are. It will be perfect during longer trips, where access to the socket is very difficult.
What is a car converter and how does it work?
An inverter is an electronic device that changes the voltage coming from the car installation. It converts direct current into alternating current. The converter is connected in two ways. The first is to connect to the cigarette lighter socket, the second is directly to the battery. The device can be used in cars, trucks or caravans, to support the current in heating furnaces (after connecting to a high capacity battery) or in boats.

Converters differ in power, voltage and type of sine wave they generate.
What does each of these parameters mean in practice?
THE TYPE OF SINE WAVE
Modified – converters with this type of sine wave are designed for use with less demanding devices such as: laptops, power tools, lighting, telephones. This type of inverter will work on shorter daily distances, allowing to power the devices at every stage of the journey. Modified sinusoidal models can be found here.
Clean (full) – such inverters are designed for devices requiring continuous power supply such as: induction motors, refrigerators, pumps, air conditioners, but also LCD TVs. They are best suited for caravans and trucks. If you are looking for such a device, you will find it here.
A very important parameter is the power of the inverter. Among Green Cell models, the choice is very wide – from 150 W to even 3000 W. How to choose the right product in this case? Everything depends on the power consumption of the devices you want to use. The inverter should not work on a continuous basis on more than 80% of the load, so if it has 2000 W of power, the devices connected to it should not permanently consume more than 1600 W. For example – if your laptop power supply has 90 W, we can easily connect it to the smallest 150 W converter (the limit in this case is 120 W).
The last issue is the voltage in the vehicle socket. Passenger cars have 12 V sockets, while trucks usually have 24 V. The voltage of the converter you buy must match the voltage you have in your vehicle.
