Why should I have spare AA/AAA/CR batteries?
The discharged batteries in your child’s favourite toy are a scenario that makes both children’s and parents’ hearts fearful. Suddenly, it turns out that you have to find new batteries quickly, because otherwise no one will have peace of mind. Fortunately, most home appliances and electronic toys run on AA, AAA and CR batteries. The most popular batteries, i.e. AA rechargeable batteries, can be successfully used for teddy bears (e.g. Teddy Bears) or remote-controlled cars. Smaller size AAA batteries, in turn, are most often used in TV remote controls. There are also those of CR type – they are usually used in watches and car remote controls. This type of batteries should be replaced before the winter period. Batteries do not tolerate low temperatures and as a result the equipment may fail at the least appropriate time.
These batteries power, among other things, equipment such as:
- remote controls for TVs and audio devices,
- wireless mice and keyboards,
- cameras and flashes,
- Xbox console pads
- home medical devices such as blood pressure monitors,
- clocks, radios, thermostats, scales,
- flashlights and bicycle lights,
AA and AAA batteries, called fingers – they are most often used because of their larger capacity, longer life and a wider range of operating temperatures (-30 to +70 degrees) than zinc-carbon batteries. The storage time of these batteries is about 5-7 years. Due to their popularity, they power the majority of electronic equipment (including toys) available on the market. What is extremely important, reusable AA and AAA Green Cell rechargeable batteries can provide up to 3 years of trouble-free operation and several hundred charging and discharging cycles. This is not only a practical solution, but also environmentally friendly, because we significantly reduce the generation of electro-waste.
The CR batteries are small in size and are usually used in equipment such as door/garage remote controls or hearing aid power supplies. These batteries do not produce any gases during a chemical reaction, so the pressure in the cell does not increase. They are characterized by a very high energy density. Lithium batteries can operate in the temperature range -40 to + 60 degrees Celsius. They also have a very low self-discharge rate, so that their storage time is up to 10 years.
Spare batteries will come in handy at the most unexpected time
Equipped with backup batteries will protect the equipment from discharge and disorganization of daily activities. Batteries are used especially often in children’s toys, so especially then it is worth to stock up on rechargeable batteries, which will always be on standby and will serve us for a long time.
